Good player, but not for kids or airplanes
Pros
Good player, serves purpose well. Battery lasts and has large screen.
Cons
Hard to see screen at angles, not kid proof, sound output is weak in airplanes.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
For the price, it is a good player. We have had ours for almost 3 years. To use on an airplane you will need really good noise-cancelling headphones.
This DVD player will serve it's purpose well for adults or even teens, but it isn't durable enough for kids. Also, the battery pack does not allow the players screen to open completely flat so, you can't use the mounting case for the back of the head rest.
The screen is difficult to see at weird angles, so it isn't design for more than one or two people to watch at a time.
It has a remote that allows you to do anything you need (pause, scan, stop, reverse, etc etc) but without the remote, you are limited on what you can do just using the buttons on the player.
I found that using the head phones on an airplane were weak. The sound doesn't go loud enough to hear over the noises. We used a noise cancelling headset and were able to hear just fine.
Features: It has 2 headphone jacks as well as an AV IN jack. Has an in/out switch, so you can use this as a DVD player for a larger TV (like in a hotel room when traveling). Plays MP3s and CDs too, so you can put in your favorite CD and close the lid (saving the battery by not having the screen on) and listen away!
Power can come from three places, wall jack with no battery (very light weight), battery power, or car charger.
