The Bottom Line:
Only worth buying at a huge discount, this TV is best described as "MEDIOCRE" if you get one that actually works properly.
We bought the ViewSonic N2751w as a floor model at a drastically reduced price.
The TV works OK most of the time with uninspiring picture quality, far inferior to my other LCD TV. In particular, the picture appears to have poor resolution and gets all jagged during fast-moving scenes both over Cable and with an HDMI DVD player. In addition, the TV does not automatically "fill the screen" well. There is usually a vertical AND horizontal border around the picture. Adjusting the Picture Size and Zoom settings either makes the picture too big or too small for the screen. Again, our other LCD TV correctly fills the screen all by itself... why can't this one?
The sound quality is equally poor, being meant for watching the news and not really suitable for watching movies.
We could not find a universal all-in-one remote control that would work with this TV. The original remote needs to be pointed directly at the set to work, which is mildly annoying.
Of greater concern than the mediocre viewing experience is the fact that our particular unit has taken to two glitches: One, it stops responding to the remote occasionally and Two, when switching to HDMI input, it will often start making a loud static noise over the speakers. Turning the set OFF then ON cures both conditions for now, but it seems likely that the conditions will worsen over time.
This TV set is only worth buying at a substantial discount, and then only for those with low expectations.
