Decent LCD HDTV
Pros
Great price for a full 1080p HDTV, adequate inputs, also a computer monitor
Cons
Grainy pictures with coaxial and AV inputs, must use component and HDMI inputs for HD
Recommended it?
Yes
I use the ViewSonic VT2230 for my various game consoles - XBox 360, Nintendo GameCube, and PS2 - including a Samsung Blu Ray player, and HD Cable TV. The TV has HDMI, AV, Component, S-Video, and standard coaxial inputs. Picture display is VERY CLEAR in HD with my XBox 360 through component cables. Picture display for HD Cable TV, PS2, and Gamecube are acceptable - a little blurry/grainy - (please keep in mind that I only use AV and standard coaxial inputs for these systems). Picture with my Samsung Blu Ray player is good through HDMI - a little spotty, perhaps due to the Blu Ray Disc and not the TV itself. I cannot comment on the TV's speaker sound quality because I connected the TV to a separate sound system. The VT2230 is a full HDTV - meaning that it can produce HD quality up to 1080p. Overall, this is a great TV for its price. I bought it for about $300 as a bedroom television. I don't have any complaints about this product as of yet. Decent buy.
BTW, I also cannot comment on the VT2230's computer monitor capabilities because I haven't used it as a computer monitor yet...and yes the VT2230 can also be used as a computer monitor!
