great monitor

Pros Easy OSD adjustments, one-touch 3X & 4X brightness mode, sharp color, low glare.
Cons None that aren't intrinsic to a big CRT: weight and monitor depth.
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  More expensive than some 19" monitors -- but for a reason.
I read a lot of reviews and looked at a lot of screens before buying this monitor. I've had it for a couple of weeks now, and at half or 2/3rds the cost of an LCD (and with plenty of deskspace to spare) it's a good deal. The OSD controls are simple and self-explanatory and there's a great brightness "boost" switch with three modes: text, gaming and video. Conveniently, the screen reverts to text mode whenever it is turned off or goes to sleep, preventing unnecessary phosphor burn. The ARAG screen treatment and "perfectflat" tube combine to make a very squared-off low-glare screen. I don't have to keep the shade pulled on the window by my desk anymore.

I've found the colors sharp and text quality good at a resolution of 1024x768. I've gone higher and they were fine, but this resolution suits my purposes...at least until I spend the time to really explore things further. Not having owned an aperture-grill display before, I was concerned the two restraining wires running across the display would bug me (I'm a screenwriter; I spend lots of times looking at bright white screens) but the eye learns to stop seeing them very quickly.

Great monitor.
