The Bottom Line:
More bang for your buck! Nice entry level pro-type flash! Offers many of the features only found on $200+ units!
I recently purchased the 850AF for use with my Nikon N65. I wanted a TTL compatible, Nikon specific flash, which would allow manual and auto setting. The 850AF will sync with your Nikon's TTL metering system, and automatically set it's zoom head to the proper focal length you are using from 28-85mm. You may also set the flash manually to 1:1, 1:2, 1:4 or 1:18. The auto zoom head also features swivel and bounce capability and iluminated autofocus assist.Guide 120/85mm
I am an advanced beginner, and this unit is perfect for my skill level, and it has many features I have just begun to learn to use. I would recommend this flash to anyone wishing to supplement your Nikon's built in speedlight. Very durable entry level pro-type flash!
The only drawback is that it is rather heavy atop a N65 ;) It takes 4 AA batteries~
