Vivitar 7 X 50 Magnification Binoculars. Worth the Money With Reservations
Pros
Good price. Look and feel good.
Cons
Not the best optics. Heavy and bulky. You get what you pay for.

Yes
The Bottom Line:
These Vivitar 7 X 50 magnification binoculars are worth the money but far from being good optics for the hobbiest or hiker.
I received these binoculars as a gift. Funny thing. A few nights before I received my pair my wife Christmas wrapped an identical pair to give to my brother-in-law.
Vivitar 7 X 50 Binoculars
I know of the Vivitar brand. They have a full line of binoculars. These Vivitar 7 X 50 magnification binoculars are not to be considered one of the finer in the Vivitar manufacturer assortment.
In first taking these out of the box I knew they weren't truly "Ideal for Outdoor Activities...", piece of equipment. They are heavy. They are also big at about six and a half inches in length and over six inches wide. The body barrels screw in and out of the main body. I never had binoculars that did that before. In doing it, I didn't see and advantages of doing so. The manual didn't give any help in that regard either.
The box told me a few facts, including:
The field of view is 297' at 1,000 yards because of the 7 X 50 magnification. The lens are covered with a UV ruby coloured coating. This gives more clarity and glare free viewing.
As most binoculars it has a center wheel focus and another on the right eye piece to be used in conjuction with each other.
The box mentions the binoculars come with a storage pouch. It does and the glasses fit quite snugly inside. It also notes that a neck strap comes with the product. It did but there are no clips or whatever. The strap feeds through a tiny loop and must be tied in a knot. Not cool, A small cloth 2 1/2" x 3 1/2" was included too.

You get what you pay for. These can be had for $15-$25. These are not good quality binoculars. The lenses are not well machined and when looking from side to side a serious wave distortion comes into play. The UV coating on the optics does cut down on glare well but also leaves a fine reflection on many borders of items seen. A flag pole might have a thin strip of refracted colour running down its side. It's not terrible but it isn't natural either.
The body has a rubberized grip that is designed to be "no slip". The binoculars though fitting in the hand well are a bit heavy for all day use considering what power they give. There are much better binoculars that have less weight and more power. They are also much more expensive.
I don't believe I would take these Vivitar 7 X 50 binoculars into the woods on a hike for birdwatching or whatever. I would however use them when the weight and size are not a factor. I happen to have mine near my computer that is in front of a window where I see birds at all times. These glasses give a good enough view of birds perhaps just 15-20 away. That's where my hedges are. Many birds go into them for safety. I enjoy watching them from time to time and I can see good detail with these glasses. These Vivitar 7 X 50 binoculars are perfect for that kind of use. The case protecting the binoculars are made well enough. It's good to have a place to store the binoculars when not being used.
