Pleasantly surprised :-)
Pros
Easy to use, great for the money. Clear bright image with both eyepieces.
Cons
Crappy tripod (only like 2 feet tall) Would like 3mm or 4mm eyepiece
Recommended it?
Yes
I received this telescope as a Christmas present and thought, "Oh great, a toy...thanks hun" but when I mounted it on a better tripod and pointed it out the window I got a spectacular view of the moon. There was no quadruple view that the previous poster wrote about. I was even able to see the rings of Saturn plain as day with the 6mm eyepiece. It was plenty bright and I think it could handle a 4mm eyepiece however I'm not sure that I can find one to fit...apparently cheap telescopes have a non standard eyepiece shaft size...
Here's some fun facts I learned about It.
It has a 60mm aperture diameter, so the 12mm eyepiece gives 50x magnification and the 6mm eyepiece gives 100x magnification...apparently a rule of thumb is that you can get 2x or 3x per mm of aperture diameter before the image looks too distorted...so a 4mm eyepiece would give 150x magnification and that would make all the difference...I think
