56" Vivitek DLP from ShopNBC - JUNK

Pros I cannot think of one pro for this tv.  
Cons There are too many to list here.  Is Vivitek still in business?
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Complete piece of junk and a waste of $2,100.00!
I have had an awful experience with this tv.  I will never buy a Vivitek tv again.  I'm having to replace the lamp for the 2nd time in 2 years and the picture is horrible.  The delivery company that ShopNBC sent out was just as bad.  I live in a loft-type apartment.  When they brought the tv up the stairs, they then proceeded to flip the entire box over the ledge.  From my understanding, these tv's are not supposed to be turned on their sides or upside down.  Once the tv was hooked up, we turned it on and got what I call flea fights, but in a green shade.  We thought that we had hooked it up wrong.  We checked all the inputs and turned it on again.  This time we got a picture.  This continued since day 1.  I had to turn on the tv, let it run for about 5 mintues and shut it off and then restart it again.  Vivitek sent out a tech who wanted to replace the entire back portion of the tv.  This made me very nervous.  At the time he came out, the tv started up fine.  I decided to not have the back replaced.  Unfortunately, I regret this now because the warranty is out.  I'm going to buy a quality tv and when it is delivered, BestBuy will take this piece of junk out of here and recycle it.  I get so upset when I think of all the money wasted on this piece of garbage.
