The Bottom Line:
Great deal if you don't want or need a display of the broadcast schedule
My el-cheapo converter box will display the schedule for the next several broadcasts and I found this feature very useful. For this digital TV, page 39 of the user manual tells how to display the schedule. I try it and it doesn't work. Wait, here's another piece of paper. "We have changed the manner in which we display the Broadcast information..." Careful reading reveals that the "change" is that the schedule can not be displayed at all; only information on the current program.
H'm, the tires on the cars are ovals. Changing the Wide setting to Normal fixes this.
Vizio guarantees no permanently white pixels and I can't find any defective pixels at all, which is pretty amazing. Video quality is a matter of personal judgement and adjustment as there are so many video controls. There are CDs available which help to get the settings for a good picture. Turning down the the Backlight(which is actually the brightness) setting will save energy and extend TV life.
Audio from the speakers is good; especially considering the tinny sound from some TVs.
I got a great deal on this TV from Walmart by going to the store early Sunday morning. They only had 4 TVs on display and the website was temporarily sold-out by Sunday afternoon.
I would be very pleased with this TV if it would only display the broadcast schedule. As an electrical engineer I can only say that this is just plain STUPID.
