Love It! BUT, 15 days and the HDMI died
Pros
Bright, Affordable, TONS of inputs, Solide user features
Cons
Have to pay for RMA, two week old set no in home service call?
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I'd consider warranty issues before buying again.
At exactly 15 days of operation all four of the HDMI inputs stopped registering video input. Although the set auto reconizes units powering on with those inputs, it registers "no signal" from anything. Called Westinghouse and they talked me through a hardware reset, no fix there. So they are issuing an RMA for which I will have to PAY for the cost to ship it back to them so they can send me a new one! Glad I saved the packing material!
Awesome, bright, clear picture. Head to head with my Mitsubishi HD DLP the Westinghouse LCD blows it away.
Brighter picture, more clarity, and a TON of inputs. Plus lots of very user friendly technology features like mixed audio output, digital audio output, and Auto-Input detection that switches to new input sources when you turn them on, super handy for the family with a few game systems and a DVD player. I've read other people's complaints about black levels and input quality, but personally mine looks fantastic. We're running an XBOX 360 through component input, a progressive scan up-converting Sony DVD through HDMI, a Toshiba HD-DVD through HDMI, and a Playstation 3 through HDMI, as well as a Nintendo Gamecube through standard video input. They all look AWESOME! The audio output to my Sony 7.1 receiver is crisp and clean and makes for an awesome theater effect.
Sleek attractive cabinet that looks good on a stand, and awesome wall mounted! I found this set as a manufacturer recertified piece from an online store, paid $1100 for it shipped, and I'm ?0 pleased with my purchase, contemplating selling my Mitsubishi HD DLP and buying a second Westinghouse LCD, maybe even their 52" model. I'm not seeing any of the issues that other people talked about with their sets, so I'm wondering if the Manufacturer Recertified sets have addressed these issues.
Out of the box, its perfect, brand new in appearance and packaging, but less than half what most 47-52 inch LCDs are selling for.
