Whistler DE1650

I bought this detector about two or three months back because of the price and also because I liked what I read on it. On many occasions, it has saved me from getting a ticket by warning me in time that there was a police officer in the area.
The Whistler DE1650 is very easy to install. In fact, all that I had to do to install my detector was I took a piece of Velcro tape, cut it about 2 inches long, and then stuck a piece of the Velcro to my dash board, and then one onto the bottom of the detector. Then all that was left to do was to plug the cord into my cigarette lighter plug in.
The only down fall to using my cigarette lighter plug in was that every time I went to use my lighter, I had to unplug the detector and then once I was done with lighting my cigarette, plug the detector back in. Well that started getting old so I went to my local Auto parts and accessories outlet and bought a lighter adapter that had two plug in ports. This enabled me to leave my Whistler DE1650 Radar Detector plugged in at all times and also had my cigarette lighter plugged in also. This has been working real well for me.
Also, the Whistler DE1650 Radar Detector has many very useful options. It will detect all radar (X, K, Superwideband Ka) laser, and Safety Radar Systems. It also includes a 360? Total Perimeter Protection, which I really like, for the simple fact that it will pick up police radar from all angles. Another super feature about the Whistler DE1650 Radar Detector is the easy to read face. Also, it is super easy to switch from Highway to City, andeven includes a mute button.
A good example of how well it has worked for me is this. Earlier this evening, I was coming home from work. I happened to fall in behind another car that was speeding and was pacing him when all of a sudden, my detector started beeping like crazy. I dropped off of the gas just as an officer sped out from behind a hedge row, hitting his lights. I started pulling over, thinking that I was busted, but he went on by me, and pulled over the car that I had been following. Obviously, that driver did not have a good radar detector to warn him in time for him to slow down.It gave me enough time to slow down so that I didn't get a speeding ticket.
I would recommend this radar detector to anyone interested in buying a good, yet reasonably priced radar detector.
