Whistler DE-1765 Radar Detector

Well, I had been using an older uniden unit. Got tired of the occassional false calls all night long, so stopped at Walmart and found this. Figured that it would be worth it even if only the compass worked.. I installed it and in an hour of traveling south on 85, never hearing even a single beep, i began to wonder if it worked. Well... a few days later, I am completely impressed with the stability and I recently detected ka radar a solid 1.5 miles in advance. Later, I picked up ka about 1 mile ahead from the other lanes as a cop measured in a single blast the vehicle in front of him. While this may not be the best unit on the market, it surelydoes perform very very well and was worth more than I paid for it. Whistler has a winner with this unit and the compass is awesome and accurate.
