Whistler DE-1765 Radar Detector

I loved the compass and the design of this detector, unfortunetly it was taken away from me once I crossed the border into Canada. The item was on sale, so I didn't lose out on that much money but the ticket was almost triple the price, so be aware once you are crossing into territory where these things are prohibited. I guess there is no way to protect yourself unless you unplug it. Other than that, the thing works great for detecting bands such as a X, K and KA. It even has a nifty feature that you can set it to beep every so often to keep you awake if you are falling asleep at the wheel. I haven't encountered that feature as of yet on any of the radar detectors that I was looking at.
