The Bottom Line:
I think there are better choices out there, might be good for someone who seldom speeds and likes gadgets.
I could easily copy/paste the features here, but chances are you already know the bells and whistles this has to offer.
X, K, Ka, Laser, POP or VG-2 capability are pretty much the standard these days and this unit has those covered and does a decent job as well. Notice I said 'decent'... it does detect them all, however not soon enough for my tastes.
I had my remote unit mounted in clear view behind the grille (plastic) so it shouldn't have had many issues with reception. At most I'd get maybe 1/2 mile range out of it with plenty of falses. I had to disable the X band detection to eliminate a lot of them.
Mounting is the only 5 star item I can give this unit, it's very flexible (upside down, sideways or standard). I like things to look factory, and this unit definitely handled that well.
I'm also the type who has to have every option, so I purchased the optional speaker as well for the voice alerts. This is something I wish I would have skipped... again, once the novelty wears off it's more annoying than necessary.
In the end, I felt I couldn't trust the unit enough to bother so I ended up pulling it out and selling it, next one will be a Valentine or Passport 8500. That said, I know enough not to rely on radar detectors... however some consistency would be nice.
Once all the bells and whistles wear off I think you'll wish you made a better choice.
Keep in mind, this is just my experience... your results may differ.
