The Bottom Line:
I have tried many detectors, and found some problem with most that was irritating to the point of wishing I had not purchased. Not so w/73..
I have purchased several Radar Detectors over the years, and I can truthfully say. The Whistler Pro 73 is a fine detector, and I have no complaints about it's reliability .
The blue readout display can be seen even on bright sunny day's (with the windshield mount) and sun glaring in.
Advance warning gives the driver ample time to slow down, and respond. (POP, a second or two max. with ALL detectors)
The voice alert is without question the best that can be bought. No question as to what band alert is being detected. Voice is clear and understanding.
This is good when eyes are needed on the road.
Each band thats detected, the unit has a "specific sound" for.
The vol. control is more than adequate, even for the "hard of hearing"
Looks are sleek, and the polished and flat black colors blend for a one of a kind appeal! Not to mention the chromed buttons that add to the overall looks.
My friend purchased a Bel. top of the line, and for the price difference, give me the Pro73!
The "Big Boys" need to look out for the PRO units from Whistler. Not much room between them from where I stand!
