Not a "gamers" system, but great fun!
Pros
Fun, easy to learn, easy to get people to play
Cons
not enough games, graphics aren't the greatest.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
I recommend the Xavix. It's a fun game system to play, and it isn't a traditional video game system.
My sister-in-law got the Xavixport for Christmas, along with the J-Mat game. My wife and I spent all of our Christmas vacation playing the game with her, and had a blast. My wife and I decided that we needed to get one for ourselves.
The Xavix is KIND of like the Wii, in that you physically interact with the games you play. Unlike the Wii, each game has a different controller. The bowling game comes with a ball, the running game comes with a mat, the boxing game comes with gloves, etc. Also unlike the Wii, the graphics aren't that good. There are only about 10 games for the Xavix, which stinks, but hopefully more games are on the way.
Each one of the games requires a fair amount of physical activity. I have played the J-Mat, the boxing game, and the bowling game. The bowling game isn't quite as strenuous as real bowling, because the ball only weighs about a pound. . . The boxing game requires a lot of activity. You will sweat! The J-Mat is the same way.
The Xavix serves two purposes at our house. It's a fun game to play, and it's also exercise. When we don't feel like going to the gym, we can plug in the Xavix for half an hour, and feel like we got a decent workout.
My wife and I have been very happy with the Xavix. We're not gamers by any stretch, but the physical interaction that the games require really makes it fun. It's certainly not a traditional video game system. What's even better is that you can get women to play. Most women avoid video games like the plague, but every woman we've had try the game has had a blast!
