Damn Good Unit

Many, many, many years ago, my original Yamaha single disc CD player (built Feb 1985)died and being broke, I bought a Panasonic portable CD player and hooked it up to my stereo. It sounded great and it met all my needs. Within the last few months it was acting erraticlly and last week it simply expired. I originally wanted a big 200-400 jukebox but after much research, I did not feel that these products had mature enough features that will allow me to manage all of those CD's effectively. For example, random/shuffle play is much to slow for my liking. At the same time, my small Manhattan apartment would be even more crowded by the sheer size of those things.
Currently I have all Yamaha components. The Yamaha jukebox, based on my research, really wasn't up to par and I didn't feel like waiting for them to get it right. I had purchased the Yamaha DVD-C900 (also reviewed by yours truly here on Epinions) so that I can also watch DVD movies. Within a few days I returned it because it does not play CD-R's nor does it have the same random features as the CDC-675.
My Experience

There is no need to go into specific detail because other opinions here have done that sufficiently. The bottom line for me are the following:
1. Plays CD-R's incredibly well
2. CD-Text is a useful feature.
3. Random selections cue up reasonably fast
4. Sounds great
5. Output level control is very useful to control the volume
6. High quality construction
7. Digital Output for minidisc recording
8. Quiet mechanism.
