Sleeper. Get it NOW.
Pros
Inviting sound, llittle of electronics between the CD and amplifier.
Cons
Slightly thinned-out sound. S-sounds, spoken, sounds slightly harsh and mechanical, but still very doable.

Yes
This is a great used buy on ebay, $100 or less. The sound quality is VERY good, natural and unrestrained. I find myself listening to the music, not the player. Listening, in my mind I see my father's long-gone SONY audiophile $3000 LP player from 1970 turning an LP around and around on its rubber-insulated turn table. This CD player is a best buy.
