For the money this is easily one of the best sounding recievers on the market. With THD of only .04% I can push the full 100 watts per channel and get great sound. I use it for both home theatre and music. I'm particularly impressed with highs and midrange. When using the subwoofer/LFE out line on DVD's the effects are little lite for my ears, however this is easy to adjust. This unit has RCA AND optical inputs for 9 devices. The A/B speaker selection lets me run my home theatre in one room (6 channel) and stereo w/sub in another. This is my second Yamaha reciever (I had the last one for 12 years) and I highly recommend the brand.
