HTR-5630 Great Value for $$$ - but don't expect perfection

Pros Lot's of features, inputs, sound modes. Good quality sound for the money.
Cons Only 1:SVIDEO,Optical Inputs. Bad setup menu. Inconsistent sound
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  This system is great for average users - however advanced users will not be satisfied. It lacks more digital inputs and is not strong enough for hard-core user.
I've owned my Yamaha home theater system for over 2 years now and had no trouble with it until last week. The trouble isn't big and most likely an easy fix for any electronics shop. One day my video got messed up - it still sounds great, but the colors are oversaturated and there are some abnormalities with the picture. I have temporarily "solved" this problem by adjusting my TV's color strength to 2 (out of 50). And yes I did test it to make sure it's not my TV or DVD issue. This only happens when my video is ran through the receiver!

Besides what happened last week this system was enough for my needs. It has a ton of features and sounds great for the price. I have heard better systems, but they generally cost at least a couple hundred more. I have 4 video sources connected to it right now so I would say it's fairly flexible.

I have had an issue with sound consistency with this unit, not sure if this is a Yamaha thing or maybe I just never noticed it before - but sound varies moderately from one DVD to the Next. Usually switching the audio mode would help to "normalize" the sound.
