First, be prepared, this thing is a beast. When i say beast, its in the most positive way. I actually had to move shelves to accommodate her because of the height. also, the weight is significant. this is a 33 lb piece.
Now, size and weight dont make a receiver. in this case, yamaha has a beauty on their hands. The sound is crystal clear and the range of options are astounding. I had a Kenwood for movies (really cheap one) and a Nakamichi for music (really not cheap one). Obviously, this piece blows away the Kenwood, but what really amazed me was that it blows away the Nak too. It absolutely performs beyond expectations.
I did have to purchase 2 extra rear speakers (total of 4 rear, 8 all in, including the sub) but thats one of those geez, i have to buy more speakers, yippee! kinda things. Definitely worth it to have 7 speakers going though. so bite the bullet, and spend the bucks. you absolutely definitely undeniably wont be disappointed. worth every penny.
