Another Great Speaker From Yamaha
Pros
Sounds very good and helps smooth out the space between my ns-555's
Cons

The Bottom Line:
excellent speaker for so cheap.
This speaker has excellent imaging, extremely able to belt out highs and lows all the way down past 70 hertz. Looks right at home between my two ns-555's, sounds right at home as well. Dialogue flows from this thing like the actor has been stuffed deep within the shiny piano wood exterior. It doesn't sound out of place even with bass heavy explosions rocking the room. My system includes the ns-c444 two ns-555's and the infamous pioneer vsx 816 (yet another overlooked audio component) and a couple random backs from an old Yamaha box system that do the job just fine. I generally don't let my center join in with my music because I prefer a simple stereo for music, but lately I have been experimenting with allowing it to join in along with the backs only to find that it holds it's own without issue. It can hit pretty damn low for a center as I have found by running it through frequency sweeps. But it's true home lies in movies and this is where it really shines. Whipping out any sound from motor bikes to gun shots (previously unheard the shell casings bouncing around on the ground) without discrimination, as if you were there. I prefer to listen to them without the grill on because I love the look of opaque drivers inlaid with brushed chrome frames and deeeeeep black piano wood.
