The Bottom Line:
It rocks!
Well, if you are reading this then you either know what you are looking for or are lost & got here by accident. You are not interested in the latest 6,1, 8.1 channels of audio video listening pleasure...nope. You are here because you want the best and this receiver devotes all of its circuitry and technology to just two channels of sound. OK then. Well, I don't know what all the specs mean, but 100 watts per channel of pure stereo pleasure, plus a second zone for output (can send vis infra-red ports! I use the second zone but I don't have the stuff for the IR ports). Anyway, read the stats... I got this because when I upgraded my AV receiver for my home theatre, i was using the old AV receiver to drive my CD player & stereo speakers. It started cutting out after a few hours. Also, the sound wasn't what irt should be. I research and determioned that todays AV receivers are terrific for DTS & Dolby digital, but suck at two channel stereo... and i meabn really suck bad... they just don't handle it properly. So after much research including visiting various Hi-Fi stores locally, I settled on the RX-777... and I don't think of it as "settling"...(duh!)...otherwise but a great value for the money... as you know, you can always spend more, but it doesn't always mean better. You will need to upgrade the antenna to get the most out of the tuner. This is their top of the line tw0-channel receiver & I'm sure you will love it just like me!
