I've had my RX-V1300 for over 3 years now and I still love it. I am now upgrading to a RX-V2700. The DSP modes are great, I like to listen to a little music in the mornings before work and either use the 6 Channel Stereo or the DTS Music Matrix. It's smart enough to keep your settings even after unpowering it. For movies, it has Digital Adventure or you can opt for the Dolby Digital D EX. The Jazz club also sounds good for music, the Hall & Church are to much echo for me. It's not hard to use and has a nice programable remote that comes with it. The sound quality is impressive and will get very loud. This was my first Yamaha receiver and I am completely sold, I wouldn't buy anything else buy Yamaha now (yes Denon, Adcom, etc. are also great but Yammy has it all - features, performance, price. Can't beat em.
