Pros Excellent value, quality, sound and effects. Great for music and movies!
Cons Possibly bright sound that can be countered/minimized with neutral speakers (Boston...

Being that I'm not really an audiophile; my ears just have not developed to the point of being able to be seriously critical on the subject of sound quality. However, I have always been a music lover, but even more so, a video lover; a videophile. I do know my ears love this thing!

Sit down and HANG ON

Pros Sound is great-music or TV. Learning remote. Inputs and outs for everything, HDTV ready
Cons Should include seat belts for recliner! Beginners may need help learning this receiver.
Recommended it? Yes

I listen to music as much as TV so I wanted high current amps with enough power to shake the house. The RX-V1300 coupled to my Definitive Technology BP2002TLs delivers this with power to spare. A and B speaker selection allows you to put sound in other rooms with equal results. Another requirement... Read full review »

Pros Great sound and plenty of power Nice, usable features
Cons Crowded back panel
Recommended it? Yes

I've had my RX-V1300 for over 3 years now and I still love it. I am now upgrading to a RX-V2700. The DSP modes are great, I like to listen to a little music in the mornings before work and either use the 6 Channel Stereo or the DTS Music Matrix. It's smart enough to keep your settings even after... Read full review »

Pros Excellent value for a fully loaded receiver; sound processing (Dolby, DTS, DSP) sounds...
Cons Much more complicated than earlier generations of (plain stereo) receivers.
Recommended it? Yes

I was looking for a replacement for an old but high quality simple stereo receiver (part of a failing quad system). I had been unimpressed by the sound quality of surround sound systems in stores, and so hunted carefully through online information about A/V receivers. The (stereo) technical... Read full review »

Pros All the inputs/outputs I needed and then some.
Cons Took me a while programming all the settings.(although its default settings are fine)
Recommended it? Yes

I purchased this about 3 months ago, so i can't attest to it's long term reliability, but I have yet to have any problems what so ever or any significant complaints. I have, however, had plenty of good things to say about it to all my friends that have seen and heard it. I bought it based on its... Read full review »

Great Receiver for clearer sound

Pros Clarity and crispness in both music and movie modes. 192/24 DACs on all channels.
Cons Sounds a little TOO bright (crisp) in my opinion
Recommended it? Yes

Yamaha has consistently made great products. I own an RX-V590 receiver which I purchased in 1996. After almost 7 full years of usage, it still is ticking and no need of repairs in sight.
The sound however is more important to me than repair history (of course depending on how severe the... Read full review »

This new replacement for the RX-V1200 is loaded with great features. The first difference is the increase in power for this receiver. Where the RX-V1200 was rated at 80Wattsx6, the new RX-V1300 is rated at 100Wattsx6. Another great aspect of this receiver is that it is comparable, if not better in... Read full review »

Pros superb value for money
Cons none
Recommended it? Yes

I bought this unit on the advice from an audio dealer in Bend, Oregon. He was so very correct in his assessment of the great over-all performance of the RX V1300. I have heard instruments that were barely audible before with my other unit. The richness of tone through the mids and highs in simply... Read full review »
