Good Picture Quality, When It Works...
Pros
Good Picture, Clean Layout, Contemporary Design.
Cons
It likes to turn off by itself & unexpectedly freeze up.
Recommended it?
No
I bought this unit to go along with my Yamaha Receiver (which I love), but only 5 months into owning it, there have been several issues.
1. Just recently, the unit has gone into standby mode during playback. Not good.
2. After finishing a DVD and then going to turn the power off, the unit was locked up and would not go into standby mode. Definitely not good.
3. The eject button on the unit is unresponsive at times, sometimes requiring multiple pushes to get the tray to eject. Not good at all.
I've been impressed with Yamaha products in the past, but this DVD player leaves quite a bit to be desired. No wonder it was discontinued only 5 months after I purchased it. It's still under warranty, so I hope Yamaha owns warranting this obviously reliability-deficient product.
