Overview
Yamaha's YST MSW10 initially designed and targeted this sub for computer market. The Yamaha's own Active Servo Technology helps this little sub to produce this solid bass and let it stands out from the crowded computer subwoofer market. As we all experienced, some subwoofers on the market are so badly made that you just have to switch it off right away when you do a test run. On the other hand, those better one certainly cost you quite a bit more. The YST MSW10 certainly hit the right target.
Although the small in size, the YST MSW10 performance is surprisingly well. The Active Servo Technology should have play a part to this. The bass is solid and very responsive. The only drawback is that when there are a lot of bass information fed into the sub, the bass become muddy. This is a common problem to all small size sub. However, the music performance for this sub is not that impressive. This is due to the fact that music requirements are much more demanding and certainly a small sub will become insufficient to handle it.
I do recommend this sub to all computer gamer. But if you are looking for a sub for music, you should look further.
