Pros Carl Zeiss lens, packed with features, weather proof
Cons It might be going out of production soon

The Yashica T-4 is an amazing camera. This little camera is packed with features, but the best reason to buy this camera is the lens!

Let's face it; the single most important thing on any camera is the lens. What makes Lecia or Hassiblad so great? Their lens! A camera body is a body... Read full review »

Point and Shoot cameras may soon be dinosaurs, forced to an end by the auspices of digital technology. Its gravemates the turntable, Swiss movement, and rotary-dial phones, have all felt the impact of the digital nova. Their loss saddens me, for they offer functionality that surpasses mere task... Cons no zoom

Yashica's little T4 became one of the favorite cameras now, with it's excelent lens compared to the best optics in the world makes these point-and-shoot cameras distinct from most other point-and-shoot cameras. This lens which I believe is made in Germany delivers perfect image and the camera takes... Read full review »

Pros Inexpensive, high-quality
Cons Low-power flash
Recommended it? Yes

For years I was frustrated by compact cameras that consistently took incorrectly exposed, blurry photographs. I bought my T-4 Super because it was recommended at Photo.net as the point & shoot used most often by professionals. I figured I couldn't go wrong with that! I couldn't be more happy with... Pros Excellent lens
Cons Sensitive shutter release, cheap looking body

I used a Contax T2 for a few years, and obtained excellent pictures with it. Unfortunately, it got left behind in a bus, and I could not locate it ,even after an extensive search and numerous phone calls. As I paid quite a high price for it, I was reluctant to spend the same kind of money again. I... Read full review »

Although the name Yashica is not well known, it is certainly a respected company in the photography industry. The Yashica T4 Super is definitely one great innovation in the Point and Shoot field. The design philosophy is simple: all you need is a great lens! If you are new to the world of... Read full review »

I bought a silver version of this camera and I shot my first roll of Ilford HP5 Plus in it. I shoot black and white pretty much all the time and do my own darkroom stuff. I was absolutely amazed by the excellent quality of the pictures! The exposure was extremely accurate for the whole roll, and... Read full review »

If you're looking for a point-and-shoot, and photo quality is more important to you than "bells and whistles". This is the camera for you.

If you read my review of the contax T2, you may have noticed that I think it's the best point-and-shoot there is; but this is definately the best... Read full review »

Best Point and Shoot

Pros price, optics, size
Cons small viewfinder

This is a wonderful little camera, it sits alongside my Nikon F3hp and my Hasselblad 500cm. The results from the T4 aren't like those from the Hassy or the Nikon, but that would be like comparing apples and oranges. The T4 has a great lens, the body is WEATHERPROOF(not waterproof), and there's a... Read full review »

Pros lightweight, weatherproof design; takes sharp pictures
Cons very sensitive shutter release button
Recommended it? Yes

Small and light are two of its virtues. The Yashica T4 will take very sharp pictures if you know how to use it. I'm still learning :-)

For many years, the only camera that I owned was a Canon Owl. I was very happy with it, except that the pictures were never crisp and sharp, although they... Read full review »
