Not worth ANY Money spent on the unit.

Pros Fine when it worked the 6 times I used it 4 months
Cons They know they sell such crappy units they only guarantee them for 3 months.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  Buy ANYTHING - or alleast something with a real warentee
I purchased this unit on 8/26/07, I also purchased a Memorex DVD/VCR combo the same day... took them home and hopped on the Internet to see what opinions exist about them, none for the Zenith, but bad reviews for the memorex, along with a p|ss poor 90 warranty. So I though that Zenith was the way to go, boy was I wrong. After 2 months of occasional use (I mean 1 video tape per 2 week period) I got a "no signal" message from my TV - but i did get sound, checked the cables and everything was fine - but no signal from VCR or DVD, I gave up and 2 days later made another attempt and suddenly it worked fine. today is 12/31/07 and this morning I went to put on a video fro my 4 year old daughter, ( haven't used this since mid November) same old story. This time I swapped cables, switched inputs and swapped multiple video tapes. Finally i setup the unit on Component connection and I can play DVD's, I went back and put on a RCA hook up on the VCR out put and confirmed the problem is even worse, I get no sound and the video will display "play" - for 5 seconds, then "HIFI" - for 5 seconds, then nothing... Called up the 1800 number stamped on top of the unit, the company that answers is LG Electronics, after explaining the problem to the "technician" we move onto the "we will now have set up this unit for service" fine I thought at least they'll fix it - I only had the unit 4 months and 2 days. The "techie" instructs me to put the unit in a box and write a check for $69.00 to fix it. (I paid $85.80 with tax 4 months ago!!!)

I informed him of this and I was told that it is past the 90 day warranty, So I pointed out that I can pick up a new DVD/VCR combo for $69.00. So I needed that call with my mention of the Memorex I returned and pointed out i should have bought it, It probably would still work today.
