The Powershot A590 IS - Canon's new P&S digicam value champ
At the end of the 19th century most photographers still captured images with large, unwieldy glass plates loaded into very slow tripod mounted view cameras, but the introduction in 1888 of the boxy little Kodak "Brownie" roll film camera changed all that. The "Brownie" was simple to use, didn't... Read full review »
PowerShot A590 - Delivers As Promised!
Introduction
Let me start by providing some background on my experience with digital cameras. I bought my first 1.3 Megapixel digicam back in 1999 for $219.99 when digital cameras were just starting to gain popularity in the marketplace. It was a Fuji MX-1200 and it took surprisingly good...

wealth of features at a bargain price
I own several cameras (digital and film) and this is by far the most fun of all to use. The reason is quite simple; it's a small camera that is easy to use, and takes great pictures. It allows me to concentrate on taking pictures instead of worrying about the camera. I can take this camera anywhere... Read full review »
Non-photographic genius loves her Canon PowerShot A590 IS
I am not an expert on cameras, and if you're looking for a review full of technical jargon and specifications, there are several very good ones for this camera so you should check them out. A variety of features for the beginner or advanced user!
I purchased this camera about a month ago when my other digital camera (reviewed in my Epinions page) finally gave up the ghost. After reading reviews of cameras on Amazon.com, this particular camera stuck out for the features it had, with a reasonable price.
Long-term durability

Good camera for the family.
For my wife's birthday she asked for a new digital camera. I'm by no means made of money, but I came across the Cannon Power-shot A590 IS. For the $150 I paid the quality is outstanding. The 8 mega pixel resolution provides for attention to detail and after having some prints made at the local CVS... Read full review »
