By the time this fifth DUKES OF HAZZARD season aired in 1982 Bo and Luke had been written out of the script as original actors John Schneider and Tom Wopat moved on to other projects. Bo and Luke's absence is explained-- they've joined the NASCAR circuit--but things remain essentially the same in Hazzard County as Coy and Vance fulfill their absent cousins' roles of thwarting Boss Hog's devious deeds at every available opportunity.
