Nothing out of the ordinary

Pros The size is convenient
Cons The super-macro mode is erratic
Recommended it? Yes
The Bottom Line:  When you don't want to do anything special
This is a point-and-shoot camera. You can get some good pictures with it, but it will make you work to get anything out of the ordinary. For example, it doesn't like to take panoramic pictures of bright scenes. It took me half an hour to take four shots for a panoramic of an ocean and beach scene, (using the beach and snow scene setting, not P-AUTO). Their software did a good job of stitching together the shots, but would not clip a view that wide to make the top and bottom edges smooth.

In low-light conditions the color balance is often off. The quick-fix tool in their desktop software usually fixes this, but I don't think that should be necessary.

The macro mode is the same as the normal mode, not what the spec says. The super-macro mode is erratic, sometimes it will focus in to get good macro shots, if it has plenty of light, and sometimes it won't.

This is true of the camera in general: sometimes you get good results–and sometimes you don't. You don't have much control over it what happens, and I have fiddled with every setting it has. In all fairness, the average user will not even try to use one-tenth of the features it has (such as taking a picture by candlelight) but they should work anyway.
