Supports Playlists (.m3u)
Pros
Playlist support. Looks nice.
Cons
Feature creep and so-so manual.
Recommended it?
Yes
The Bottom Line:
Somewhat difficult to use, but it works and looks nice. AND, I repeat, it supports Playlists. Worth the premium over cheaper mp3 CD players that have no .m3u support.
Cheaper CD based mp3 players are out there, but I paid the extra 25 bucks for this feature alone. Worth it. I have had no complaints. I like the inline remote, in the car I fasten this to the shoulder harness when I use the headphones, and just had to learn which way to press the volume lever, and I am happy as a clam. Some reviewers tout the features, but I think there is serious feature creep here--a case of programmer whoopie--putting in stuff just because they can. You really have to study the manual to get this stuff figured out.
The manual could use a once over from a native English speaker, as well. It includes this: "Remote Control operates every function using 2 buttons and 2 jog levers. Additionally, each jog lever can function like 3 buttons, for a total of 8 buttons, making it easy to use." NOT!
My batteries last at around 15 hours, usually more. I use it with an Irock, which works, but those batteries only last about 8 or 10 hours.
I should have gotten the car kit, but didn't originally because those things lead to wire spaghetti. I just buy batteries on sale and keep them in the car, and tell myself it is worth it to hear good music on the way to work. It is.
