Thirty years have passed since Pete Townshend began work on "Lifehouse," but it's only now that the technology exists to make the experimental nature of the piece a reality. This recording of the concerts held at Sadler's Wells in London on February 25 and 26, 2000, is a celebration of the music of "Lifehouse" rather than the culmination of the project. To this day, Pete Townshend is continuing the exciting musical experiments he first pioneered in a small South London theatre back in 1971. On July 13, 1955, Ruth Ellis became the last woman to be hanged in England. Comic Actor Robin Williams lends his voice to this story of Pecos Bill with charming illustrations by Tim Raglin (VHS is adapted from the book by Brian Gleeson) and music by Ry Cooder. "Pecos Bill" is a great American tall tale about how a boy falls out of a wagon train and is raised by coyotes. Pecos is as tough as nails and it is as the rider of cyclones that he carves out the Grand Canyon. A rich yarn that will hold the attention of young and old. Williams does a great job bringing Pecos to life and the fanciful illustrations and Cooder music are pure magic. An enjoyable, well-done project.
