Hewlett Krapard strikes again

Pros There is still time to take it back
Cons Anyone can just name a machine and say it does things. This does nothing.
Recommended it? No
The Bottom Line:  If you're a glutton for punishment, go for it. Personally, I have better things to do with my time than read manuals and run "ping tests".
I can't believe I got sucked into buying another one of these pieces of junk. Luckily, I only bought it three days ago, so I can still return it to Best Buy.

I bought my 6310 on Sunday, brought it home and followed the setup instructions to the letter. After loading the ink, the machine did its test, and responded "Ink System Failure- Unable to Print, copy, or fax". Then what in the h--- could it do?!!

I called HP, who said it was a hardware issue, and that I needed to take it back and get another. Great.

I returned it on Monday, reluctantly brought the new unit home, and once again followed the setup instructions perfectly. This time, although its computer jammed up twice and restarted, and the readout didn't follow what the instructions said it would do, I managed to get it up and running. Everything was great. Over the next 24 hours, I was able to perform just about each one of the functions- send/receive faxes, copy, scan, print pictures, and all wirelessly. That was until today- wednesday, when I tried to print something, and it would not respond. I waited, infuriated, for 10 minutes or so, for the queue to process the print job, but it wouldn't. I cleared the print queue and tried again- nothing. I tried from another computer- same thing. The thing WOULD NOT PRINT. Give me a break- This "master of everything" couldn't even freaking print? I'd be better of with a long-beaked bird and a stone tablet! This was a problem that was all too familiar to me (I'll elaborate in a second). Disgusted, I decided to clear the print queue again, cycle the power, and try again. When I turned it off, it said "Shutting Down".

I waited.

And Waited.

30 minutes later I left for the Braves game. When I came home, it still said "Shutting Down". I unplugged it and am taking it back tomorrow. HP "all-in-one's" are pure crap. I'd love a suggestion for a home office "do-it-all" machine.

The only reason I was in the market was that I had finally given up on my old HP all-in-one- a 2500 series (I know, I know- fool me once, shame on you, fool me twice...) and needed a replacement immediately. It made my skin crawl to buy another HP product, as my old one had disgusted me so much that I was moved to post a short video documenting my troubles with it on you- tube. If you want to find the video, just go to youtube and run the search "Krapard". I made it just days before i was suckered in to buying the 6310 (my wife convinced me it would be better this time). I'll try to leave a link here-
