Great printer - difficult installation

Yes
The Bottom Line:
I recommend this printer if you're able to download and configure the setup software without adequate instructions. The features are worth the effort involved.
This is the 2nd HP printer I've owned, and it's a vast improvement over my old one, which was not a bad printer at all. I doubt if I'll ever even use all of the features it has, like scanning directly to a memory card.
There are just a few reasons I haven't given it a raving review. One is because although the installation instructions direct you to insert an installation CD, there was no CD included. I had to download the installation software from the HP web site (http://tinyurl.com/6bg9gk). During installation, an IP-based device manager popped up, which I bookmarked: http://192.168.15.103/index.htm?cat=info&page=printerInfo. That was a lucky thing, since after installation there doesn't appear to be a shortcut to this anywhere.
Next, configuring the printer to work with my wireless router via Ethernet connection was extremely difficult. I did not find a solution to this anywhere, and finally just stumbled on the right setup through extensive trial-and-error. Setting it up as a network printer did not work at all. I had to set this up as a local printer, with the port name being the name of my wireless network.
Finally, I had trouble getting it to do duplex printing, which is one of the main features I bought it for. Every time I try to print something double-sided, I get the message, "The document has been configured to print using the Automatic Two-Sided Printing Module but the module is not installed in the device. The document will be printed one-sided." After a lot more trial-and-error, and going through all of the steps on the HP Customer Care site (http://tinyurl.com/5d66hv), I've finally discovered that the message is simply wrong. If you ignore it and click on Print, it actually prints two-sided. After getting through all those headaches in the installation and setup, I really do love this printer.
