What's more, this unit features Panasonic's TP4 plug-in cartridge connector system, which makes replacing the cartridge easier. The SL-BD20D has a removable dust cover. It doesn't have a built-in phono preamplifier, so your audio/video receiver must have a phono input to accommodate the SL-BD20D's output level. If your receiver doesn't have a phono input, you'll want to buy a dedicated phono preamp. Or you could opt for a turntable like Denon's DP26F, which has a preamp built in. Minimize

Epinions This is a jewel of a turntable

by  dleague,  Mar 30, 2007
Pros: A gem of a turntable, capable of excellence.
Cons: A throw away cartridge (or at least the conical stylus).
The Bottom Line: The turntable is quite a good turntable, but is flawed by the cheap conical stylus.
Review: This is a magnificent turntable for critical listeners. Please everyone, if you don't know about turntables, read a guide to things like tone arms and cartridges. Rarely do any price turntables come with a good cartridge. This is a P-mount design, ...

Epinions For the Price, This Turntable is Alright With Me

by  vemartin,  Jan 15, 2007
Pros: Inexpensive; semi-automatic; easy to use.
Cons: No power indication LED.

Review: Anyone who came of age before the advent of the CD-ROM in the eighties, most likely has a large collection of Long Play (LP 33-1/3rmp) and Short Play (SP 45rmp) albums collecting dust in some dark coat closet. At least that was my particular situation. ...
