Poor service and rude attitude

I ordered some items from Thompson, shipping was slower than some other retailers but I didn't mind too much. The same day I get the items they call my house pushing me to enroll in some club to have cigars automatically shipped at interval. I reluctantly try after being assured I can cancel at any time. After getting their packet and reading it over I decide it's not for me and call to cancel my enrollment. The customer rep was just as pushy, and after I politely stated I simply wished to cancel my enrollment in the club program, he became downright rude and insulting. They will never get another dime from me, and some coworkers have also decided to take their business elsewhere after their own bad experience with Thompson's sales and customer service practices.

I placed an order on a Thursday received it on Wednesday the following week, I ordered The classic cherry wood combo, an airtight traveler and the 2 bundle deal on the cuban especiales. For 115 shipped to my door, I don't think I can find a better deal.     Read full review...

THE WORST!!!

they're slow, they lie, they promise and don't deliver. We were promised delivery by Christmas, tried to check several times, were told order shipped on the 18th (it didn't) could not get a straight answer. It is the 26th and they said the order shipped TODAY so of course they couldn't cancel it, sorry if someone gave us bad info. But we could return it and we could get a full refund. Yep, I believe that!!!

Dont Worry

You had me worried.This was my first time ordering with thompson. I placed a order online about 4 days ago then read reviews about the company today. I noticed alot of bad bad reviews that made me start to worry. I ordererd one sampler and the combo deal. One had regular shipping and the other had 3-5 day shipping. Well i called them today and had GREAT customer service nad they told me they WONT send a combo deal unless everything is in it and it is ON IT WAY and the sampler was also already shipped. it was alot of weight off my sholders. I think i know the problom with some bad reviews with some companys... if your really rude to customer service there is a chance they will be rude back or maybe screw up ur order...iv worked on a phone for a 8 hour shift before and its not fun. treat others as u wish to be treated. Or else im just lucky :)

Very poor customer service and defective product

A family member sent me Romeo and Julieta package deal as a gift that included a decorative jar and 20 tubo cigars. When I received it, 19 of the 20 cigars were molded and were not the size of cigar that were ordered. I wanted to exchange the item, and called customer service. The agent was rude. I complied with the exchange instructions contained in the package and with what the customer service rep told me to do. When I later called to check on the status of the exchange, I found out that the gift giver got a credit to her card instead. After two more calls to customer service that told me two different things, I gave up. Me experience with this company can be summarized to this - if a company's customer service doesn't know the job and doesn't care about customers, I won't be one.

HORRIBLE EXPERIENCE, THEY HELD UP MY $400 ORDER FOR 3 WEEKS DUE TO A SHIPPING CHARGE DISCREPENCY ON THOMPSON'S PART! Inexperienced sales reps and solicited on phone calls at home at all hours of the day and night! I shop at Bestcigarsintheworld.com now and they are fantastic. They beat Thompson's prices by up to 60% and Free shipping was included

I've had one order so far and another one on the way. I got the classic combo 4 as a starter humidor and I was impressed by the speed of delivery and the customer service. My order was backordered and the next day they called me to see if I wanted to change to something else at a discounted price, I declined and received my order in about 5 business days (almost three weeks before the said the backordered items would be available). I am waiting on my first shipment from their club, and I will decide if I'm going to stay in it within a few months. I have found that their samplers and combos are the best deals out there, but they have just average prices for typical cigar orders. definitely get a combo or a sampler when ordering from Thompsons.

Slow delivery and poor house brands

Hate to say it but Thompsons was a disappointment. I ordered one of their house brand samplers in an effort to find a good smoke a a decent price. Being deployed I like the fact they mailed to APO and FPO address but it took over a month and a half to get my sampler. Cigars were in poor condition and not too tasty. <br> Man, I hate to write a bad review but they just don't cut it. Cigars international delivers overseas in about two weeks and their name brand samplers are great. They also donated some great smokes to the troops. <br> Thompsons needs to catch up. <br>

My initial order included a draw poker and a sampler. The sampler was placed on backorder. After a telephone call I was told as soon as their supply was restocked it would be sent to me. And within a week my sampler arrived. An excellent array of cigars, in fact.

I have ordered Thompson's Liberty Humidor. The Humidor looks nice but does not perform what it must do - it does not hold the humidity level! I have asked to replace. The replacement was even worse. I have returned for another brand replacement. The customer service did not notify me that they need to charge my credit card and then credit it back during a replacement. What a stupid method! Because I have replaced my credit card, I did not know what's going on until they sent the letter that my credit card was denied. Why not send e-mail right away? My poor cigars are still without humidor... I canceled my order. NEVER BUY FROM THIS COMPANY.

I have always ordered through Cigar5packs in Reno, great service. I thought I would try Thompson, they sent the wrong order and I was charged shipping to return it. I got a call promising that would not happen again if I joined their club. I gave them another chance, 2 orders were ok and then the next went back ordered. They sent me two lighters I did not order, then the back order came, wrong cigars. I would be charged shipping to return them. I called customer service and the rep was rude. NEVER AGAIN! I then called Cigars5pack, made an order, free shipping and had what I wanted in 3 days. How Thompson stays in business I will never know!

I had a good experience with Thompson. <br> <br> I got an email offer for a 10-cigar+humidor+2 cutters for $29.95. I ordered them expecting dried-out, beaten cigars. But what I got was a super sampler of CAO gold, La Gloria Cubana and La Flor Dominicana. The cigars where in great shape and I couldn't help it but smoke one of each the very same day. I enjoyed them to the last inch. <br> <br> They called offering specials, but they weren't pushy and accepted the fact that I wasn't going to buy more cigars at that time. <br> <br> I am into samplers and they seemed to have the best sampler choices. Of the online cigar stores, they seemed to have the best values.

I ordered one of the Thompson special samplers and was exceedingly pleased. It arrived promptly and in good condition. It did put me on their mailing list, but they have an excellent selection and good descriptions. Eventually a salesperson called and asked if I liked the order and wanted more. I declined, at that time, and they were pleasant about it. They just added Villiger exports to their inventory, which was the only thing that I liked that they didn't have.
