My number one favorite site to shop at is AMAZON.COM When I need a quick last minute gift, (with a few days to spare) I hit the keys straight to amazon. I love that I can find pretty much anything I need there- and often for a fair price, if not a better price once I factor in that I do not pay sales-tax, or shipping costs.

As a Mother of 3, and a business owner I don't always have the time to hit brick and mortar shops. That is what got me started on amazon in the first place. I have bought fitness equipment, protein powder supplements, diapers, baby gear, a changing table, toys, video game consoles and games, TV's, Photocopier and printer supplies and the list goes on and on!!! For all of the aforementioned items, I did not pay shipping costs or sales tax. (Tax of course, will depend upon which state you live in- NY currently is not charged tax by Amazon.com )

With all of the pitching I am doing for Amazon, let me say this- they *often* will show an inflated MSRP for their items- which is very annoying. It makes some of the sales prices look that much better. So buyer beware, and consumer Do YOUR HOMEWORK before you buy. I have learned a few neat things about amazon, that make it worth my while to shop there:

1) never ending shopping cart: I place items in my cart- and leave them there sometimes for months in the 'save for later' section. I have had as many as 13 pages of saved items. If a price goes up OR down on an item at AMAZON, there is a message when you click on shopping cart telling you the name of the item, and whether the price has gone up or down. This is how I've often saved 5, 10 or even $50 or 100 on an item.When you aren't in a rush- this is the way to go!

2) Free super saver shipping can be a blessing or a nightmare...If you are in a rush, this is pretty much a useless perk- as the shipping can take as little as a week or as long as 2 weeks! What I love is that if you subscribe and pay for Amazon 'prime' you get everything that qualifies for free shipping- in 2 day expedited shipping. Overnight shipping costs are reduced and TOTALLY reasonable when I've needed to rush an item sooner than 2 days. Yes, it is a pre-paid service ($79 for the year) but when you order almost weekly from Amazon, it pays for itself over and over again. As a business owner, springing for the Amazon Prime fee is worth the write-off and it has saved us on numerous occasions when we needed toner, a replacement bulb for our projector, a new digital camera- and the list goes on- all shipped to us within 2 business days for FREE (well, pre-paid).


3) Lightning deals and Deal of the Day: If you love to shop, check out these specials. I have picked up STEALS on birthday and holiday gifts for friends and family. Again, know your prices and always comparison shop before you make your final purchase (as with any site). When I know I have found a super deal- I buy- and more times than not- I find my deals on Amazon.com
