Unauthorized charges show up on receipt, they refuse to cancel them
Full review Buy.com has the worst customer service of any online company, hands down. I went onto their site to order a computer and an associated Windows OS upgrade. The computer was advertised as free shipping. At checkout, I realized that the Windows OS upgrade software was the wrong one, so I went back and changed the quantity to zero, then hit submit. Guess what happened? I was charged $19.59 for shipping on handling on the computer that was advertised as "free shipping," and the software I cancelled showed up as well. So what do I do? I call their customer service number to cancel the software order and make sure they give me the free shipping on the computer. After waiting 8 minutes to talk to someone, I am told that they are "unable to cancel the order once it is placed." Even if I call back 30 seconds later? Yes, sir, it is our policy. As for the "free shipping," my receipt showed a $19.59 shipping/handling charge. I asked them to remove that, because this item comes with free shipping. "Actually sir, our default shipping is ground shipping, and unless you change it back to the free shipping, which you didn't, then the ground shipping is charged to you." Whatever, I didn't want it. Please change it back to the free shipping that was offered to me. "I'm sorry sir, we are unable to change any aspect of your order once it is placed." So there you have it. After spending nearly 2 hours on the phone demanding these charges be deleted, after they never should have been there in the first place, I had to resort to filing a credit card dispute in order to cancel the order. No respect for the customer. Therefore, they aren't worthy of anyone's business. The worst ever. |
