What a wonderful way for an artist starting out to get their work out there. It's great for learning about designing for the gift market place. You take your art and make it fit each measurement for each product. I've been a member for 2 years now. I have ordered my own art on items and have been happy with 90% of the work. What I was not happy with, they quickly replaced when I called them on the toll free number. Very friendly service too.
With Cafepress, I feel like I am part of the company and look at my percent that I get from each of my sale as a royalty I am getting from my art. The advantage is, I still own all the rights to my art. I am not html brainy but I dont have to spend much time doing much shop design as its really easy with their builders. I just load up my designs and decide what prices to charge and thats it. I do advertise a bit through my website too and once in a while I sell on ebay. I dont make anything much on ebay after Paypal and ebay take their cuts, but I look at it as advertising. Many of the people that see my products on ebay email me and ask if I have a different size ect...I explain that I have a cafeshop if they want to see my whole line. It works out great that way. I highly recomend Cafe to other artists like myself who want to get started in the design business. I have a long way to go but have learned so much. Good luck to you all, Janie.
