With the advent of e-retail the Latin words "caveat emptor" or "let the buyer beware" most definitely apply. Web commerce is nothing more than an extension of the mail order business which has been around for more than a century pioneered by the likes of Sears and Montgomery Ward.

What the buyer didn't have when getting their cracker barrel from the Wells Fargo Wagon was the ability to check into the merchant instantaneously. Enter Epinions and the like.

Nowhere are the waters more treacherous than the world of online consumer electronics. There are a lot of rip offs out there and you can find them just about anywhere. For the record, OneCall isn't one of those companies.

They have a great selection, very competitive prices, a simple website, a multitude of shipping and payment options and decent customer service. As with any other large retailer the hold wait can be a tad long sometimes. However, I have only needed to call them on one of my transactions and although I had to wait I don't think it was more than 3-5 minutes.

Although I have only done a few transactions with them, I have definitely been pleased each and every time out. I never ran into a problem with my product so that is a plus, but on the negative side I haven't had to deal with them on a problem.

Rest assured, if you're seeing the price your looking for on OneCall, you'll do just fine. That price varies greatly as well because of their selection of refurbished or "B" items they stock in addition to NIB (new in box) stock. OneCall is a welcome compromise between the highway robbery of brick and mortar stores and the free trade megaplex (with an equal amount of hustle) of Ebay.
