I was very excited. To make a long story short, it was a nightmare. After several weeks of dealing with these hucksters, I decided to give ritzcamera.com a try.

Their site was fairly basic, but fast and easy to navigate. They had a very fair price, shipped my camera the next day, and followed up to make sure everything was OK.

The scam works this way: You place your order, and then get an email thanking you for your order and letting you know that for security reasons, your order will not be confirmed until the customer service department calls you to verify the charge. You are also given a phone number you can call to expedite the process. And here is the catch- when they get you on the phone, they want to tell you about some great offers on things like batteries, lenses, etc. The problem is, all of these items are priced WAY too high. They will not ever confirm your order unless you buy the extras. If you don't add these things to your order, every time you call in to request your order status you get put on hold again and again. For hours, for days. After all of this, I found out that this is a very common occurence. SO be careful out there. I highly recommend ritzcamera.com over other online camera stores.
