TOTAL MANIPULATION AND LACK OF CUSTOMER SERVICE

BEWARE OF THIS MERCHANT! <br> <br> I called to cancel an order and was advised that I could not do so because it was scheduled to ship in FOUR DAYS. When I asked to speak with a supervisor, I was told that they were all in a meeting and that someone would return my call which, of course, they didn't. INSTEAD, they expedited the order and shipped it after I requested that it be cancelled. <br> <br> I feel totally manipulated and will NEVER shop at this vendor again!

Target has a horrible exchange policy. I just had a baby shower and received a duplicate gift from target. The item had a Target sticker still on it but they would not take it back! Do not buy any gifts from target because unless you have a receipt they will not take it back! Customer service can not even work with the customers on this. I work in retail at the headquarters of a major retail company and am outraged by this. You should not waste your money in this store!

Target Guest Registry Wedding: <br> Never register with target unless you know you will not have to return something. We were told that their policy was to return items for store credit as long as the item was on the gift registry with or without a gift receipt. This was also the policy when I worked in Guest Services. But SURPRISE, when we actually went to return the items, the policy had changed and you cannot return anything over twenty dollars without a gift receipt and the items under 20 can only have two returns within a year. <br> The representative the first time either lied to us or the policy has changed since, either way, it doesn't seem legal. We tried talking to guest relations to no avail. <br> I would suggest walmart, Bed bath and beyond, or belk who have a no hassle return policy for their registries and items purchased as gifts.

Worst online shopping experience I ever had

Worst online experience ever! After ordering a Playmobil toy for a birthday party- I was informed 5 days after order it would be delayed. Then it never was shipped at the new date. Long story short- I called 5 times and spoke to a service rep who each time said "it is in stock, it should have shipped, we don't know why it did not" <br> <br> The fifth time I asked for a supervisor who says "apparently the order is stuck in our system, why don't you just cancel the order and place a new order" <br> <br> I canceled the order. This ordeal has taken three weeks to get nowhere and get no information or updates. <br> <br> There are plenty of other places to use. These people never offered to speed this along, offer free shipping, offer shipping upgrade or offer to call the fulfillment center and see what the problem was. No problemw ith the stores but Traget.com is the pits.

Purchased 2 AMW portable DVD units Dec '03 as gifts. Neither worked. Returned them to the AMW. They sent two more. These didn't work. Returned them to AMW. Received two more. These don't work. This makes 6 non-working units. AMW will send me two more with no warranty. The chances of them working are zilch. Target has done NOTHING. I am out $500.00 and have two non-working AMW portable dvd units. <br>

I was led to believe that this table would be delivered in time for Christmas when I ordered it Dec. 10. Every week the website said "shipping soon". Now, over a month later, the website said they have no record of my order. I contacted them (customer service in India) and got an email saying my order had been canceled due to unavailability of the item. WELL,THANKS FOR NOTIFYING ME!! Talk about disappointingly poor business practice - Target.com is TERRIBLE. Don't order from them if you are giving a GIFT that you would like the person to actually RECEIVE.

Does not ship to military overseas!!

I would like to order from Target HOWEVER because I am in the military stationed overseas. Target will not even ship a pair of socks to APO/FPO boxes. It is the only store that does not ship here. So thanks for NOTHING!!!

I have been a loyal customer of target,since opening in Spokane Wa. (Many years). I own my own business and have been shopping on-line for over two years. I recently was shopping on-line and accidentely ordered a crib, we were just looking. An hour later I realized it when I got my email. I called immediately. I was informed I would have to receive it and then later return it to the store. <br> Needless to say we decided to keep it when it arrived since I had to pay $90.00 in shipping charges. We received it two weeks later. It was defective and damaged from shipping. I took it in to exchange it and was told that target on-line would NOT approve it. Had to ship it back,confirm the return, and then they would send another.The baby wont need one by the time we could get it again! I will not shop on-line target again. <br> Huge hassle and not worth the time of day.

DO NOT BUY FROM TARGET or TARGET.COM. They run classic bait and switch scams and have absolutely poor customer service. Also note that the website and the store are unrelated entities, so when you use the website, you're just buying stuff from some offshore company.

They do a one click buy when you have stored your credit card DON'T DO IT! You are UNABLE to see total price of item with the HIGH and over priced shipping charges until you go and see your order that is ALREADY completed and you have been charged.You cant cancel on line and if you call they say to turn it away once its delivered..

I will NEVER order from Target online again. I ordered 4 top of the line jacquard bath towel sets. It has taken 2-months of receiving bits and pieces, and portions of the orders are unavailable. So I have ended up with four high-priced mismatched partial bath towel sets. Do yourself a favor, buy in-store or don't buy from them. It's too risky and they do not seem to have any online inventory control.

TAKES 6 WEEKS to ship in-stock item?!? Missed Christmas!!

On December 8th, 2005 I ordered a "Revlon Moisture Stay Paraffin Bath" as a Christmas present for my wife. Target's website showed the item in stock, but when I received their order confirmation it gave the estimated shipping date as January 20th, 2006!!! It didn't even list it as backordered or anything. Needless to say, I canceled the order. This is *THE LAMEST* experience I've ever had shopping online. Kudos to Target for a new benchmark.

I recently purchased a laptop bag from Target.com, and after reading horror stories, I was excited when my product came earlier than expected. When I opened the box, they had sent me the wrong item. Luckily I was able to return it to a local store. The customer service guy was rude and not very helpful, and to top it all off, Target didn't reimburse me for the shipping, when THEY sent ME the wrong item!

Ordered items on Jan 29 totalling $127. Items shipped Feb. 3. They broke my order into 2 and I received on a week later. Still waiting on the other part of the order. I get a runaround from Customer Service and cannot get anyone to answer the toll free lines. My credit card has been billed and they refuse to give me a refund - I got an email stating that they "think" that my order is lost (Really!!) and thats it - no follow up or anything. Never shopping with them again

Horrible Experience - difficult website, items promised by Christmas did not arrive, just advised one of the items is never going to arrive & I need to go out Christmas shopping again today, Dec. 29th. Will never use them again. I like the store, but not the on-line "service.!"

I am sure Target.com is great as long as they get your order correct the first time but dealing with their online customer service could cause you to rupture an aneurysm. I had read negative reviews specifically about customer service on Epinions but really wanted the product that was advertised. Long story short, they offered an Aiwa MP3 headphones with advertised FM tuner over Christmas. 2 products arrived--no FM tuner. Customer service stated they would correct the order but re-sent 2 more MP3s without FM-tuners. I finally contacted Aiwa who stated they didn't make a Headphone MP3 with FM tuner. Target.com customer service emailed that they were "sorry the product arrived in poor condition" but that I would have to pay return shipping costs because it was "not their error". The saga continues 34 days after the original order. I will never order from this website again.

The item I ordered from target's online store seemed nice, but the item had misleading shipping information. Although it says, in "1 to 2 business days" it will usually ship, the Target "team lead" informed me that it will usually take 2 to 3 or even 3 to 4 business days to ship. He also felt that this difference was trivial. I disagree. Interestingly, I was not informed about the actual time required to ship the item until I had already entered my credit card information. They instantly process your order to get it to you asap, so don't bother trying to cancel the order. Instead, you would need to refuse delivery of the item once it's delivered. I would not recommend this item.

I ordered 2 twin headboards from Target and 2 months later I still do not have 1 of the headboards. They have cancelled my order twice because they don't have one in stock. Then, when I talk to a customer service rep. they apologize and reorder it. This has gone on for 2 months and my credit card was billed for both headboards. Finally, I demanded my money back and I'm waiting for this to happen. They did send me a 20.00 gift card which does me no good since I will never order from Target again!

Put two items in shopping cart, proceeded to check out, shipping was WAY TOO HIGH (over $30.00). Called several local Target stores, item only available on website. Went back to shopping cart to purchase; guess I have to pay for shipping, but wait, one item mysteriously disappears from cart. Went back to retrieve item, now listed as "out of stock". Decided not to purchase other item as they were a "set". Checked a week later on availablity of Out of stock item, now BOTH items are out of stock. Called internet Customer Service Rep, friendly but totally unknowledgable ("a complete idiot"). Was given complete run around by EVERYONE; no one knows anything and will not transfer me to anyone who might know something. Item is still on website as "out of stock". Have no idea if it is on back order or discontinued. Unfortunately it is not available anywhere else or I would go somewhere else. No offers to help me from anyone at target.com.

Bad experience. Ordered a chair with ottoman, 9/15, never got any updating emails. Had to check order status myself several times. Tracking showed the item shipped out from a warehouse, then went all over the East coast, ending up in NH - not where I live. Hard to get to customer service. On 10/10 finally did, asking where the chair was. The rep said "this is over my limit" and said he was filling out some form for his "lead." After being put on hold and pushing for some answers, the rep said the item would be "replaced" and then after my pushing some more, he said it was actually out of stock now, and Target would decide whether to replace it or refund my money. Target wasn't able to say if and when the chair would be in stock again, and they weren't able to replace it with a different color chair that might have been in stock. Of course I demanded the refund. What a pain in the neck.

I like the stores, but the customer service for online-orders is just poor, I would not recommend to shop there, I think that Target should get a lesson from their customers, that overpriced shipping means that nobody buys online anymore, period ! <br> Do you a favour and shop somewhere else !
