Full review

I began Ebaying as a buyer... but inevitably was tempted to try selling. What was I waiting for?!?!? It's fun. It's addictive. It's profitable.

I've been selling now on Ebay for several years and I've sold everything from old Matchbox cars to guitars to paintings to PDA's. Their are three keys to success: Great "copy", great photos (see my Epinion of the Sony Mavica 73) and great timing. If you master these 3 basics you'll become a confirmed Ebay "junkie".

People buy everything from old faucets to sports cars on Ebay. Whatever you have you can sell if you're realistic about the value (search for similar items that have sold to get a realistic value). The excitement of an auction and the promise of a bargain draw millions of buyers ot Ebay each month- buyers who want to buy if you'll just help them!!

They want to know WHAT they're buying. Remember- they can't pick it up, turn it over or handle it on Ebay. It's up to you to help them "touch" it through your words and photos. Describe it carefully, thoroughly. How old is it? What's wrong with it? How does it work? How long have you owned it? Now show them with photos- lots of photos from a fast server (See my Epinion of Auctionwatch.com). Show them the damaged part. Show them the carrying case. Show them the cover, the detail, the signature, the color. Let them see what they're bidding on and they'll bid!

Finally timing is everything. Don't schedule your auction to end at 12:30 AM Pacific time when 99% of the country is asleep. I suggest scheduling auctions to end at 10:00-10:30PM Eastern time for maximum exposure.

Ebay brings the traffic. It's up to you to show your wares. Finally- DO WHAT YOU SAY YOU'LL DO. Your feedback can make you or break you on Ebay. Pay Promptly. Communicate Quickly. Ship the same day good payment is received. (See my Epinion of Paypal)

Whether you'r cleaning out your attic or starting a part-time business, Ebay opens the door to the world.
