the website for people with too much money
Pros: you'll find just about everything you could imagine
Cons: difficult to update 'about me' page; small fee is involved for sellers but it is minimal Full review eBay is, without a doubt, the largest garage sale in the history of mankind. You will find everything, and I say this from personal experience, you could possibly imagine on this site. Need to update your record collection? Try eBay. Need to find every episode of the Sopranos on video? Try eBay. Need to buy someone's soul? Try eBay. That being said, it is very easy to become addicted to making bids on the site. I know I sure had my problems earlier in the year...but thanks to a lot of friends and family and the fact the bank cancelled my credit cards - I'm doing much better now (joke). As a regular user of the site (username: cawthon777), I am very pleased with its performance. Very rarely do I have problems with the site, other than when I attempt to edit my 'About Me' page (that usually takes a good 30 attempts). There is no charge to join or make bids, however you will need to have a credit card on file if you wish to sell items (a small fee is charged depending on the item; usually I only pay 25 cents per item). In addition to having too much stuff to mention, eBay also incorporates a feedback program for its users. For example, if you are happy with a seller / customer you can leave them positive feedback on their account. Other members see this person's feedback and can figure out if that would be a trustworthy person to deal with. For all potential eBay users, I would suggest getting familiar with this aspect of the site before making any bids. eBay is the largest and, let's not kid ourselves, best auction site on the Internet. With seperate sites for users in Australia, UK, Japan, throughout Europe, and many other countries - eBay makes it easy for everyone to find what they are looking for. I would recommend eBay for everyone that can't find what they are looking for at the local mall. |
