E-Bay or PayPal do not protect their buyers. A seller--- abdou55(109)--- sent me an item (a camcorder) that was not remotely 'as advertised' because as advertised by this seller--- abdou55(109)--- the camcorder was said to be in 'very good working order' when in fact it would not record. I e-mailed this seller suggesting a compromise fair to both of us but the seller--- abdou55(109)--- refused to respond to any of my several e-mails. When I finally, out of frustration, resorted to the dispute resolution process, e-Bay / PayPal delayed any action on this dispute for over three months and then ruled in abdou55(109) favor. When I called the dispute resolution center to ask why such a judgement had been made, e-Bay / PayPal seemed to have only a vague reason. As I had done in previous calls and e-mails, I reminded e-Bay / PayPal that it was a simple straight-forward case: the seller--- abdou55(109)---had lied about the condition of camcorder and then had refused to respond to my e-mails. E-Bay / PayPal conceded their decision was bad and agreed to reconsider but after another three months has elasped with no resolution, I decided it was a lesson learned so I finally canceled out of my e-Bay / PayPal membership and gave up. When a seller like abdou55(109) can outright lie about the condition of an e-Bay auction item and e-Bay does nothing to prevent it, that is a group that can't or won't protect their customers.
