I have both bought and sold on eBay. I have never had a bad experience. Everything I have received was in good condition and with fast delivery. Most things have a picture and that helps to see the condition it is in.
The sellers are rated as to customer satisfaction and you can read the comments of the customers. If they have a bad record then don't buy from them.
Another thing to check is how much shipping they are charging because some people are a little outrageous. I think they do that in case they don't make as much off the auction as they want so they make it up in shipping. So please remember to check the shipping rate.
You can get many wonderful items and save money buying on eBay as long as you watch seller ratings and shipping.
Also remember to check if you are still the leading bid because bids can change in an instant. They also have it where you can tell them the most you want to spend on an item and they will up your bid when someone beats your bid but only to the maximum you have set.
As far as selling, I have had only one bad experience. One lady said she never received the merchandise so I gave her back her money. I learned that you need to pay a little extra at the post office to verify it was delivered.
I haven't sold anything lately but plan to get back to selling on there. It is a great way to make a little extra money.
