Hours of entertainment, suspense, surprises, product education.
Full review I'm not into shopping in the mall, so I have been shopping eBay for several years and have had both good and bad experiences. I love the fun of bidding and have found that most often, sellers try to be honest and fair. Sometimes the photos don't show the object clearly and I steer clear of those. I've only had two or three bad experiences where the merchandise was unacceptable; one of those was settled amicably but the other was a learning experience for me. I bid on and won a fabric flower which was advertised as new with tags. It arrived thrown in a box with no protection, tattered and shopworn with soiled tags and reeking of cigarette smoke. I was really teed off at the disrespect and did not contact the seller but wrote a negative, if polite review. First negative review in eight years of buying. Seller sent me a screaming rip of an e-mail telling me he or she (don't know because the seller's name was "Weasel" (!) had been in the hospital and wasn't responsible for faulty packing and shame on me for not contacting him/her first. Weasel also went to my ratings and wrote some rabid stuff as well as slagging me in his/her own feedback. So I have learned a lesson. Do not write negative reviews until you have exhausted all avenues. So in that sense, I was disappointed in eBay because if they allow their sellers to offer cheesy merchandise and also to write venomous e-mails and feedback, it is discouraging to buyers. Still, I like eBay and one sour apple shouldn't spoil it for me. I also have wound up with a few lemons which I haven't bothered to send back. But I have a gorgeous jewelry box, a pair of Land's End winter boots, a pink costume watch and lots of other good surprises. |
