I have been an Ebay member since 2001. At first, I would only buy items, and usually not in a very smart way. I failed to do my research a few times and would get taken advantage of. Like the time my husband was very excited because he won a grandfather clock for a penny. He didn't realize shipping was $180!! Of course we paid for it but I am here to tell you that that clock was not worth it!! After a few more mishaps like that, we started to get Ebay savvy. After only buying things for a few years, I started selling things I had around the house. Ebay was very helpful in showing me exactly what to do in order to get my item sold. I like to say it is almost idiotproof. Almost. You learn a lot by watching other peoples auctions and seeing what works for others and why. As a housewife, this is a great way for me earn a little income from selling things lying around the house. I have run out of things to sell! There are power sellers on ebay who have sold tons of items. They mostly do this as a career. Then there are the small sellers like myself. There is a small fee to list and sell on ebay but for the opportunity to make money from the comfort of my own home, I have no problem in giving them a percentage of my profit. I have never really had any customer service issues with buyers or sellers. I have worked hard to keep my feedback at 100% and will continue to do so. Ebay is all about reputation.
